How Our Platform Works

Rare Istanbul is an intermediary platform that connects individual sellers with buyers who appreciate authentic, curated pieces. As we do not act as a commercial seller ourselves, our return and refund process is structured differently from traditional retail stores. Please review the details below carefully before making a purchase.

⚠️ Important Notice

Since we provide intermediary services on behalf of individual, non-commercial sellers, unconditional returns are not available on our platform. We are not the direct seller, which means we cannot exchange your item with another product from our inventory or process a direct refund by adding the item back into stock.

Order Cancellation

Request a Cancellation

You may submit a cancellation request as long as the seller has not yet shipped your item to our verification center.

Seller Review

Please note that the seller reserves the right to reject your cancellation request if the item has already been dispatched.

Refund Initiated

Once your cancellation request is approved, the refund process is initiated on our end immediately.

Funds Returned

The refund will be reflected on your payment method within the legal period of 10 business days, depending on your bank's processing time.

Inspection & Return Process

If the item you received does not match the listing description, contains an undisclosed defect, or you have concerns regarding its authenticity, you may submit an inspection request — provided the conditions below are met.

Submit Your Request

You must submit an inspection request within 1–3 business days from the delivery date (including the day of delivery).

Return to Verification Center

Once your request is processed, you will be guided to ship the item back to our verification center for a thorough review.

Expert Inspection

Our authentication team carefully inspects the item to verify whether the return conditions are met based on the listing details and your claim.

Refund Processed

If the return conditions are confirmed, your refund is initiated and reflected in your account within 10 business days, depending on your bank.

Can I exchange my item for another product?

Unfortunately, no. Since each item on Rare Istanbul is unique and owned by an individual seller, we are unable to offer exchanges. Each piece is one of a kind.

However, you are welcome to resell any item purchased through our platform — commission-free — and use the proceeds to purchase another piece you love.

What qualifies as a valid return reason?

Valid reasons include: the item does not match the description provided in the listing, contains damage that was not disclosed by the seller, or shows signs that lead you to believe it may not be authentic.

Returns based on personal preference, change of mind, or fit issues are not accepted on our platform.

How long does the refund take to appear in my account?

Once approved, refunds are initiated immediately on our end. The funds are typically reflected on your payment method within the legal period of 10 business days. The exact timing depends on your bank's internal processing schedule.

Who covers the return shipping costs?

If your inspection request is approved and the return conditions are confirmed (item not as described, undisclosed damage, or authenticity concerns), Rare Istanbul covers the return shipping costs.

If the inspection determines that the return conditions are not met, the return shipping and any related fees will be the buyer's responsibility.

Can I resell an item I purchased?

Absolutely. Any item you purchase through Rare Istanbul can be relisted on our platform — completely commission-free. This is our way of keeping the cycle of curated, authentic pieces alive in our community.
